Got to See My Chicago Bears finish out a ballgame with a win.Yes, the offense did the trick in the first half, but it was the crucial goal stand which sealed the victory. The Philadelphia Eagles got down to the 1-yard line and tried three runs to push it in. The defense rose to the occasion and the Bears took over on the .5-yard line and moved out far enough to pin the eagles back deep in their own territory with only 17 seconds left in the game.My body right now needs to regain some muscular strength. I can walk but not enough. I can get up but sometimes need help. I take pain medication and lots of supplements, which seem to be holding me up. I am wearing suppose stockings to keep my legs from swelling so that has been a relief. Now I just need to be able to eat more, even though my stomach has shrunk quite a bit; the water still is accumulating around the stomach area. I didn't think I would have enough to get to church this morning, so we watched the DVD of New Spring Church and hears some wonderful music and a great sermon. We had church for sure. In the afternoon, Wayne & Beverly came by for pastoral visit. In late afternoon, Wayne & Marguerite Lewis came by with some more reading material. I tell everyone who comes to visit that I appreciate the social contact with my fellow believers, who each pray for me before they leave. What a good God has provided to give my peace and support during these last days.
Beautiful Sunrise This MorningAs I am up early working on updates on my new computer setup; where I had to replace my PC with my laptop while I get me PC hard drive to spin again. Presently I am looking for a technician locally available. It reminds me again that the autumnal equinox was just 3 days ago, so the sun still is rising almost exactly in the east down the road. The addition of another water pill is beginning to remove the excess fluid my system. I will be glad when I get some relief from the pain of bloating.I have been wearing support hose to help with the leg circulation and that seems to help also. Now I need to start getting more exercise and strenghthening muscles which have atrophied some. I see some improvement in being able to stand up.I am eating a little more each day and taking my pills on schedule.I thought the Presidential Debate wasn't, it just was a reiteration of the same campaign policies. Neither one can come up witih an actual detailed answer to what they would add or detract from the current budget. I only heard that they differed in what they would also want to fund with a government debt of $11.3 billion. I am not impressed with the full faith and credit of the US Government as insurance on Bank accounts or anything else supported by the Federal Government. I am tired of hearing about the Federal Reserve Bank as part of the Federal Government, when in fact it is owned by wealthy investors here and overseas. They are really calling the shots.
Latest M.D. communicationAsked Dr. G. about increasing the dose of the water pill and she is permitting me to double the dose each day. I hope that will reduce swelling in my ankles and my abdomen. She recommended Benadryl to stop the jaundice itching that has started again. She also said there were oatmeal bath bars and lotions.Used them six months ago to no avail. For a pulled muscle in my back, she said an external arthritis lotion would help.Political CommentsI am disappointed that both candidates have more negative info about their opponents like they are only working for winning the election. I want them to tell me how they would solve the financial difficulties in this country. Both of them just spout general policies of their parties; both of them proprose programs that exceed even what we are now doing and yet claim to be to cut taxes. Those two things are mutually exclusive. With a 11.3 TRILLION dollar national debt, we will never get out. We will just see that the value of the dollar will continue to drop. Big government bureaucracies continue to spend what they don't receive. I don't see any reform coming from either side, so I will vote for the more conservative policies.
Hard week of pain and trials...Sunday I had chills and fever at the very time that I was to teach. I tried for about 15 minutes, when I asked Loren Sizelove to take over and complete he lesson. The week was going well until this Saturday morning, when I woke up to lie down on the couch with the vibrator. I started chilling and shaking without any fever, a sign of low core temperature. That lasted for at least 45 minutes even with four blankets and a sock hat stopped the heat loss. I have been weak all day. After lunch, I had chills with a fever of 101.5 degrees. Then in late afternoon, I started the chills and shaking again. Finally we took my blood glucose and it was 45 a terribly low reading. We immediately took steps to increase that glucose. The vision impairment hasn't improved much yet, so I will stay awake for a little while to see if that clears up.
After Doctor's Visit,...I am now on furosemide to remove the excess fluid which has caused swelling in my ankles and belly....It is a very low dose, because she is concerned about not overworking my kidneys....I am taking KCl to replace any K removed with the fluid....I have a greenlight to continue using the vibrator on my belly to mask the pain or loosen the muscles. It didn't work all night long, so I hope that was just an anomaly....We started the process of bringing DSL broadband into the house so I can move a PC into the foyer for the fall and winter. My office gets really cold and I don't want to face that all winter.
One Week Results Last Sunday night at the end of our country church's Fifth Sunday Sing, Bro. Jack Cornell called me up to be prayed for by the entire 6 churches in attendance. I had Wanda sit beside my on the altar and was moved by the concern of my friends for my health.
I have waited all week to see if there are any differences this week. Some have been negative and some have been positive. I have begun to hold fluid in my ankles and legs. However, I haven't had so many feverish days as before. My abdomen is becoming larger and harder, maybe indicating some more tumor growth. However, I have been able to eat more than previously, even though I have such a small stomach now. So the bottom line is that I am still here and being able to have some activity throughout the week.
Your prayerful concerns for me are greatly appreciated. Keep them up.
