Exciting Weekend with Family...
...Wanda and I were privileged to go to Wichita to visit with Lance's family. We particularly were there to witness Ellie and Micah in a musical production called "Simon Says." They did great and the program contained wonderful content.
...As a bonus, we attended the Saturday evening worship service of NewSpring Church and had a wonderful experience in worship with the contemporary style that Lance has developed over the past several weeks.
...Pastor Hoover's message was right up there with some of the best evangelistic messages I have heard. We really don't consider the piercings that Jesus chose to take for us. Then the Lord's Supper was special as well.
...Since Lance's church has three identical services on the weekend, we went on Sunday morning to Central Community Church (about 2000 attendance), where my cousin, Gene Westerman attends. The service style was called "Classic", but it was more a blended worship style. I loved the orchestra and choir renditions and the pastor's sermon was right on target in the initial sermon of an 8-part series on the "Be-Attitudes." Gene and I got to visit for a short time, before we rushed back across Wichita to meet Lance, Jenny, Ellie, and Micah for lunch at Chili's restaurant. I told Lance that next time I want to try "Big Daddy's Ribs" barbecue on Greenwich.
...Not only is this the week for Pastor Hoover's pastoral and wedding anniversaries, but Lance and Jenny are celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary on June 10th.
