Cells Know When to Die

...I have always contended that individual cells die upon signal from their own DNA. When all the cells in a body die simultaneously, the body dies. Now researchers have found a synthetic chemical which can trigger the dying reaction in tumorous cells, a reaction called apoptosis.

...I am glad for any improvement in cancer treatments. I usually have mixed emotions, because I wish it had been discovered before my wife died of breast cancer.

...I am excited that a procedure might one day be developed that doesn't have all the side effects of surgery, chemo, or radiation.
